After all of these boring stories, finally, Digimon Adventure Tri is getting more exciting. Although… The level of excitement is nowhere near other exciting anime. Nevertheless… The flow of the story is finally improved. Okay. Digimon Adventure Tri. 4 Shoushitsu was released on February 25, 2017. Just two weeks ago by the time I make this post. I didn’t rush to watch this anime movie. But since I got a free time (because of sickness), I can use it to watch Digimon Adventure Tri.
Finally, a real nostalgic. The chosen children or Digidestined arrived in Digital World once again, just like in the ending of the third movie. Since Digital World is rebooted, the evil Digimons who were defeated show up once again. And not just that. The evil Digimons are controlled by Gennai who tempted to join the dark side of the force (or something like that). And it turns out Himekawa was also behind this. Himekawa was once a Digidestined as well. Her partner Digimon was a Megadramon. Her partner Digimon sacrificed himself in the battle against the Dark Masters. Unfortunately, her partner Digimon doesn’t reborn as Digitama. So, she forced Digital World to reboot so her partner Digimon can be revived once again. She was once a heroine but now she turns evil. Just like Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars.
The first evil Digimon encountered by the chosen children is MugenDramon. Unlike in the first TV Anime, MugenDramon here is much weaker. So weak that even poppy howling could startle him. Even Mugendramon got a hard time to kill the chosen children and their Digimons in child form (or Rookie form). The other evil Digimon that make appearance is MetalSeaDramon. Just like MugenDramon, MetalSeaDramon also got a hard time killing the chosen children.
To defeat the MugenDramon, Piyomon Kyuuketsu Shinka (Mega Digivolution) to Hououmon, Patamon Kyuuketsu Shinka to Seraphimon, and Kabuterimon Kyuuketsu Shinka to HeracleKabuterimon. The three of them combine power to defeat MugenDramon. Personally, I think Hououmon alone is enough to defeat MugenDramon. The other two are just for show off. The screen time of the three Kyuuketsu Digimon is very short though. I still wish for a longer combat duration but this is somehow has always been the tradition of Digimon.
On the other side, Taichi, Yamato, Agumon and Gabumon are engaging a fight against MetalSeaDramon. The two Kyuuketsu Shinka to WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon. Giving MetalSeaDramon a short screen time. Actually, WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon still have shorter screen time though.
Still the same as before. Not impressive. Nothing to talk about here.
My impression with the music is better this time. It’s almost 2 stops better than 1st and 3rd movies. The opening theme song is still “Butter-Fly～tri. Version～” by Wada Kouji. The ending theme song is now “keep on~tri.Version~” by AiM.
Those seems to be the good ones are actually the bad ones. I think the relation between the chosen children and their partner Digimon is exaggerated here. Himekawa is doing whatever she can, now matter good or bad to be able to meet her partner Digimon. The relationship between the chosen children and their partner Digimons is closer than their relationship with anyone else, including their own friends and family. This doesn’t really make sense to me. But already arrived at 4th stage of Digimon Adventure Tri. With story packs more action than before, things are getting more interesting now, especially after the stupid drama in the 3rd movie.
Finally, a Digimon Adventure with real Adventure. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd movies are only Digimon Adventure in title only but no adventure in the story. It has been quite sometime since Digimon becomes interesting again. At least there is still a hope. I rated this anime movie as Good and hopefully the next movie will be even better.
|Sounds & Musics||7|
(+) Packs more action than earlier movies
(+) Real adventure, not just adventure in title
(-) Animation is still not good enough
(-) Evil Digimons who used to be very strong are now so weak
(-) Still there are too many illogical questionable things
